How far will God go to answer prayers?

Five leaders (Derek Murphy, Dave Elshaug, Mike Packer, Bobby Sharp, and Logan Wolf) began meeting together starting Dec 28, 2021 to ask, "How can we ignite prayer in the Intermountain West?"  And a whole lot has happened!  Let's skip forward to June 1-3, 2023.  These guys led a church leadership conference and two prayer walks in Boise, ID.  Our Friday night prayer walk was in Caldwell, ID in the neighborhoods around Caldwell High School.  We split into small groups to pray through the close by neighborhoods.  Mike Packer's group walked by a family sitting on a porch drinking. They stopped and asked if there was anything they could pray about.  One person said, "This lady's son committed suicide, we just got back from the funeral."  After spending time praying, another family member spoke up and said, "Can you pray for my mom? She's really sick and was transferred to the University of Utah Hospital and she's all alone."   Mike Packer said, "That's where I live."  Upon returning to Salt Lake, Mike went to visit Terrie.  She has a rare form of spinal cancer.  Mike led her to Jesus and baptized her in her hospital room last week.  The family is connected to the new church planters in Caldwell.  Salvation and healing arrived at the front porch of a grieving family, all because a few people stepped out to pray for a neighborhood that wasn't even their own.

The University of Utah is only 12 Miles from Southeast Christian, where Mike Packer is the Lead Minister.  But it was a 750 mile round trip detour that got him to Terrie's room.
