The Visionaries Behind the Intermountain Church Planters Association

Over the past 29 years, the Intermountain Church Planters Association (ICPA) has seen incredible growth, with 32 churches planted, thousands of lives reached and prayed for, and a lasting impact on the community. The ministry has endured, evolving to meet the needs of its people and extending the reach of God's work. But the question remains:

Who were the visionary founders behind this transformative initiative?

The answer lies with two remarkable men who shared a passion for discipleship and church planting, laying the foundation for what would become a powerful movement:

Bill Putman and Charles Crane.

Together, their combined vision, passion, and unwavering dedication to building strong, faith-filled communities laid the groundwork for the ICPA’s success. Their commitment to discipleship and church planting not only birthed a transformative force within the region but also created a legacy that continues to thrive today, impacting lives for generations to come.

Key Milestones in ICPA’s History

Two pivotal moments stand out in the history of the Intermountain Church Planters Association (ICPA):

  1. The launch of Eagle Christian Church in 1995 in Eagle, Idaho, under the leadership of Charles Crane. This marked the beginning of a lasting legacy in church planting and community outreach, setting the stage for the growth and impact of the ICPA.

  2. The launch of Real Life Ministries in 1998 in Post Falls, Idaho, under the leadership of Bill Putman. This church quickly became a beacon of faith and an integral part of the ICPA’s vision, further establishing the association's mission to plant churches and spread the gospel.

These milestones are not just events in the history of ICPA—they are defining moments that shaped the direction and impact of the association.

Today, their sons continue this incredible legacy, carrying their fathers' mission forward with renewed passion and energy:

  • Jim Putman, Senior Pastor of Real Life Ministries, follows in the footsteps of his father, Bill Putman, as a dedicated leader in the church community, continuing the work his father began.

  • Dr. Steve Crane, Senior Minister of Eagle Christian Church, honors the legacy of his father, Charles Crane, through his committed leadership and deep passion for ministry, ensuring the meaningful work their fathers started continues to thrive.

Together, these next-generation leaders embody the ongoing mission of ICPA, bridging the past and present with dedication to advancing God's work in the region
