Home to Brigham Young University, Provo is deeply conservative and culturally homogenous, overwhelmingly dominated by the LDS church. Breaking ground here requires extraordinary patience and highly relational discipleship to bridge entrenched religious and generational divides.

The Intermountain West is a landscape of extremes—geographically, politically, and spiritually. It contains some of the least churched regions in America alongside areas dominated by deeply entrenched religious cultures. To plant effectively here, we must understand the distinct realities of each state, balancing the rapid expansion of urban tech corridors with the isolated nature of rural agricultural communities.

About ICPA

Rural Areas

Church planting strategy usually follows the math: find a growing population of 200,000, launch a service, and build a crowd. The Intermountain West doesn't work that way. This region is anchored by agricultural towns, mountain valleys, and remote regional hubs that will never make a national target list.

In a major metro, a closed church means people drive a few extra blocks. Out here, losing a church or a pastor leaves an enormous void.
